Argentina – for many an exotic country from faraway lands, which mainly brings to mind the vibrant Buenos Aires, successes in football and pompous soap operas, and which definitely has much more to offer. Two products arouse exceptional interest all over the world: Argentine beef and red wine. These two icons of Argentine taste have gained recognition for their taste values over the years and today are an inseparable element of Argentina’s image on the international stage. Why is it here that beef is considered one of the best in the world and where in Warsaw can we experience culinary ecstasies straight from Argentina?
VIVA TANGO – Steakhouse Argentino
VIVA TANGO is a completely new place on the map of Warsaw – a concept created out of love for good food, Argentine culture and top-class red wine. The restaurant is located in the heart of the capital – at 4 Nowogrodzka Street and is a true Argentine enclave in the vibrant city center. The motto “Steak, Wine & Music” combines all the most important elements that we want to present with our presence on the gastronomic market. We want to create a space that will transport guests to the sunny and beautiful Buenos Aires.
Argentine beef – culinary gold
It is common knowledge that Argentine beef stands out from meats from other parts of the world. The secret lies in two factors: the way cattle are bred and the unique climate. Argentine cows graze freely on vast pastures for most of the year, mainly in the La Pampa region, where the year-round temperature remains at 15-20 degrees Celsius. Add to this the flat terrain, care for pure genetics and feeding with natural grass, and we get an exceptional taste and unique quality of meat. The consumption of beef per person in this country reaches over 50 kg per year, which puts Argentina in one of the leading places in terms of red meat consumption in the world, and in the country itself there are more cows than people.
The most prized cuts of beef are:
“Bife de lomo” – Beef tenderloin, the most delicate piece, distinguished by its subtle flavor and softness.
“Bife Ancho” – Beef entrecote, one of the most marbled cuts of beef. It is exceptionally juicy and full of flavor.
“Bife de Chorizo” – Beef tenderloin, known for its delicate texture and juicy flavor. It has subtle marbling and a strip of fat on one side, which give it a unique flavor when grilled
Argentines rarely add any spices, allowing the natural flavor of the meat to play the main role. As a side dish, they often serve “chimichurri” – a mixture of olive oil and herbs that goes perfectly with grilled beef.
Argentine wine – A perfect companion to beef
The inseparable companion of Argentine beef is red wine, which has become almost a symbol of the country. Argentina is one of the largest wine producers in the world, and the vineyards located at the foot of the Andes produce unique wines that are known and appreciated all over the world. The most recognizable Argentine wine is Malbec – it contains clear notes of plum, black cherry and spices, perfectly combined with the intense flavor of grilled beef. The Mendoza region, the largest wine region in Argentina, is characterized by a unique climate – large differences in temperature between day and night and limited rainfall mean that the grapes ripen slowly, which affects their intense flavor and aroma. In addition to Argentine wines, we would like to present other flavors from the New World – in particular wines from the United States, which in our country do not enjoy the popularity they deserve.
Tango – The musical heritage of Argentina
The culinary culture of Argentina is deeply connected to the history and everyday life of the country. In the colorful streets of Buenos Aires, you can often hear tango music, a national passion and an inseparable part of Argentine identity. Tango has become a symbol of passion and an expression of Argentina’s cultural wealth.
Summary – a trip to Argentina on a plate
Argentine beef and wine is more than just food and drink – it is an experience that takes us to the streets of South America and allows us to feel the passion and culture of this unique country.
